Geneva Wyatt

Geneva Mary Wyatt, 94, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Dec. 30, 2019, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born June 12, 1925, in Sikeston, Missouri, to Henry W. and Josephine Schaefer Schwab. She and J.R. Wyatt were married Jan. 22, 1955, in Sikeston. He preceded her in death April 4, 1968.

Geneva was a graduate of Sikeston High School.

She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1983, having moved from Poplar Bluff, Missouri, where she had lived from 1969 to 1983.

She worked for Southwestern Bell for 43 years, retiring as a manager.

She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church.

Survivors include her five sons, James Don (Janet) Wyatt of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Dan K. (Gayla) Wyatt of Poplar Bluff, Douglas Allen Wyatt of Oakland, California, Bill (Traci) Wyatt of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Dave (Julie) Wyatt of Chesterfield, Missouri; brother, Dr. Edward (Shirley) Schwab of Shreveport, Louisiana; eight grandchildren, Kristy (Michael) Jackson, Chad (Casey) Wyatt, Rachel Wyatt, Alex Wyatt, Brooke Wyatt, Marleigh Wyatt, Sophie Wyatt and Elle Hammond; and five great-grandchildren, Wyatt Jackson, Dawson Jackson, Caytie Wyatt, Collins Wyatt and Ayden Kelley.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; five brothers, Thurman Schwab, Norman Schwab, Robert Schwab, Dr. J.D. Schwab and James “Pete” Schwab; and two sisters, Mary Schwab and Dorothy Schwab Willis.

Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Jones officiating. Burial will be at Garden of Memories in Sikeston.

Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer’s Association Greater Missouri.
