Take a peek into 2020 to see what’s trending with home, style, beauty, health and family. Now more than ever, people are staying home to work and entertain or be entertained. Then they’re heading outdoors to reacquaint themselves with nature.

Thus, a push for more eco-friendly habits is changing how we live. There is a shift toward more conscious consumption as people re-evaluate their impact on the environment. Consumers will buy more glass over plastic or swap out paper for fabric napkins. Keeping old furniture is trending, and secondhand fashion is having a moment. Forget partying like it’s 1999; these days, we’re living like it’s 1999. As us Millennials get older, we relive fond memories. Meanwhile, Gen Z is discovering ‘90s culture for the first time and putting their own spin on trends. Styles like grunge fashion, scrunchies, Y2K outfits, braided hair and ‘90s streetwear are seen everywhere from city streets to suburban sidewalks.

In 2020, when people hear the word “wellness,” they will be thinking about wellness in everyday ways. Individuals will seek easy habits to counter anxiety and stress, such as using self-discovery journals to help kick-start regular journaling routines or swapping out their coffee for a steamy anti-inflammatory mug of chicory root instead. Some may look to tap into the age-old design principles of Feng Shui décor to de-stress and re-energize their living spaces. Sure, home is where the heart is, but it’s also where our office is, and maybe even our gym. Thanks to technology and flexible office policies, it’s never been easier to never leave the home.

So, as we approach the end of 2019, get inspired, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most.
