Sharon Ann Shumway, 74, of Cape Girardeau passed away at 7:38 p.m. Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at the Lutheran Home & Hospice.

She was born Dec. 9, 1945, in Cape Girardeau at the old Saint Francis Hospital to Albert Carl "A.C." Jr. and Margaret M. Horn Shumway.

She's a 1963 graduate of Malden High School. She retired from Missouri Division of Family Services after 21 years in Overland, Missouri.

She was a lifelong devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and Missouri Tigers. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and dining out.

She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Mary in Cape Girardeau.

Sharon is survived by her mother, Margy Shumway; Anna Mae Trust, her beloved aunt; her sisters, Carla (David) Letassy of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Debbie Campbell of Cape Girardeau; her brother, Steve (Arsula) Shumway of West Plains, Missouri; her nephews, Scott (Meranda Frost) Shumway of West Plains, Brian Campbell and Illy of Seattle; and niece, Amy Campbell (Butch Stiers) of Bellingham, Washington.

She was preceded in death by her father, A.C. Shumway, and niece, Tori Campbell.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Allan Saunders officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and will be accepted at the funeral home.
