JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Annie May Lund Francis, 90, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2020, at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation, where she had been a resident for the past 5 1/2 years.

Annie was born Aug. 17, 1929, in Hagarville, Arkansas, a daughter of Martin and May Graves Lund. Annie and Doyle Robert Francis were united in marriage Aug. 24, 1946, at Grassy, Missouri. He preceded her in death Oct. 25, 2000.

Annie was a member of First General Baptist Church of Advance, Missouri.

For 12 years in the 1950s and '60s, she and her family lived in St. Charles, Missouri. While there, they were active in General Baptist churches, including helping start new churches. Annie worked in children's ministries all of her life.

She and her children had a homemade doughnut business. In 1966, she and Doyle bought a farm north of Advance, where they created the Francis Berry Farm.

Shortly after Doyle's death, Annie's memory began to decline. She enjoyed spending time in the homes of her children and grandchildren, calling herself "The Pass Around Grandma." During her later years in the nursing home, she became a beloved resident who told everyone she met "I love you."

She is survived by daughters and a son, Marcia (Ed) Kilpatrick of Holts Summit, Missouri, Pam (Richard) Clayton of Advance, Debbie (Dave) Moen of Holts Summit and Robert (Janet) Francis of Butler, Missouri.

She is also survived by granddaughters and grandsons, Talia (Tom) Backer of Fulton, Missouri, Sara Ann (Boyd) Denson of Jefferson City, Jenna (Todd) Sanders of Columbia, Missouri, Matt (Gretchen) Clayton of Palmer, Alaska, Michelle (Brian) Teeter of Truesdale, Missouri, Peter Francis of Butler, Sarah (Domineck) DeBrodie of Mokane, Missouri, Beka (Derrick) Bekius of St. Louis, John Francis of Fulton, Kristina Moen of Kansas City, Missouri, Luke (Hailey) Francis of Butler and Sarah (Jeremy) Denlinger of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

"Granny Annie" is also survived by 16 great-grandsons, four great-granddaughters, a great-great-grandson and a great-great-granddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, Annie was also preceded in death by three sisters, three brothers and a grandson, Robert Edgar Clayton.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Grandson Matt Clayton will officiate. The service will be followed by Chickamauga Cherokee graveside rites conducted by Annie's son, Robert Francis.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Jefferson City Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
