REV. RAYMOND WHITAKER

URBANDALE, Ill. -- The Rev. Raymond L. Whitaker, 73, of Urbandale died Monday, Jan. 1, 2001, at Union County Hospital in Anna, Ill.

He was born March 14, 1927, in Livermore, Ky., son of William and Frances McClure Whitaker. He married Juanita Whitaker, who died in 1996.

Whitaker was a retired Pentecostal evangelist. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Whitaker of Urbandale; five sons, Robert and Raymond Whitaker Jr. of Urbandale, Donnie Whitaker of Tunnel Hill, Ill., the Rev. Jerry Whitaker of Thebes, Ill., Phillip Whitaker of Hopkinsville, Ky.; two sisters, Betty Musgrave of Kansas City, Louise Hase of Shelby, S.C.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Cairo from 9-11 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Jerry Whitaker officiating. Burial will be in Spencer Heights Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.
