GILBERT DREYER

FROHNA, Mo. -- Gilbert E. Dreyer, 85, of Frohna died Saturday, Feb. 10, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 27, 1915, in Frohna, son of Joachim and Anna Schlimpert Dreyer. He and Eugenia Emma Schimer were married May 16, 1937. She died Dec. 25, 1992.

Dreyer was a retired farmer and a Perry County Mutual insurance agent.

He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where he served as president, vice president and trustee, and was a member of the finance and school boards. He also was a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Concordia Men's Club and was on the East Perry Fair Board.

Survivors include a son, Verlin Dreyer of Frohna; a daughter, Doris; a sister, Myrtle Petzoldt of New Wells, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, a twin brother, Erwin, and three other brothers.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today or from 6:30-8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Young and Sons East Perry Chapel in Altenburg, Mo.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Concordia Lutheran Church in Frohna. The Rev. Wayne Palmer will officiate, with burial in the church cemetery.
