SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gwen Burggrabe, 88, of Sikeston died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Sikeston Convalescent Center. She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in St. Louis, daughter of William and Elizabeth Graham Shortland. She and Franklin Burggrabe were married Aug. 3, 1935. He died in 1969...

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Gwen Burggrabe, 88, of Sikeston died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, at Sikeston Convalescent Center.

She was born Aug. 5, 1912, in St. Louis, daughter of William and Elizabeth Graham Shortland. She and Franklin Burggrabe were married Aug. 3, 1935. He died in 1969.

Burggrabe had lived in Sikeston since 1992. She was a longtime member of The Master United Church of Christ in Florissant, Mo.

Survivors include three daughters, Pat Werner of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Fran Robison of Sikeston, Jane Voelkerding of St. Peters, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

Friends may call at Baue Funeral Home in St. Charles, Mo., from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Friedens Cemetery in St. Louis.

Nunnelee Funeral Chapel was in charge of local arrangements.
