DEXTER, Mo. -- Blanche Alice Avery, 81, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at the home of a daughter. She was born June 10, 1919, at Idalia, Mo., daughter of Samuel A. and Myrtie Mae Lincoln Harper. She first married Henry Stultz in 1936. He preceded her in death. She and John Wes Avery were married Aug. 19, 1955. He died July 28, 1982...

DEXTER, Mo. -- Blanche Alice Avery, 81, died Tuesday, March 27, 2001, at the home of a daughter.

She was born June 10, 1919, at Idalia, Mo., daughter of Samuel A. and Myrtie Mae Lincoln Harper. She first married Henry Stultz in 1936. He preceded her in death. She and John Wes Avery were married Aug. 19, 1955. He died July 28, 1982.

Avery lived in the Dexter and Essex, Mo., areas all her life. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star in Bloomfield, Mo., and First Baptist Church in Essex.

Survivors include three sons, Tom Avery of San Diego, Calif., Vader Stultz of Gallatin, Tenn., Henry Avery of Dexter; a daughter, Bonnie Cooper of Dexter; five sisters, Hattie Nottingham of St. Charles, Mo., Syble Lawrence and Edna Hellman of Dexter, Bessie Morlan of Bloomfield, Marion Atkins of Haughton, La.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Friends may call at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Bob Wiggins will officiate. Burial will be in Walker Cemetery near Bloomfield.
