SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bobby Gene Vanpool, 68, of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center. He was born May 15, 1932, in Bertrand, Mo., son of Hal and Grace Brashears Vanpool. SIKESTON, Mo. -- Bobby Gene Vanpool, 68, of Sikeston died Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center.

He was born May 15, 1932, in Bertrand, Mo., son of Hal and Grace Brashears Vanpool. He and Margie Hust were married Jan. 26, 1984.

Vanpool lived in Bertrand most of his life. He had worked at Flair Inc.

He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-1960.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Shelia James of Bloomfield, Mo., Diane Manker of Atoka, Tenn.; a brother, Vester Vanpool of Bertrand; two sisters, Aline Hinkle and Nadine Pulliam of Bertrand; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and a sister.

Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston. The Rev. Gerald Penn will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home Friday after 9 a.m.
