MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral for Kathryn Gundersen of Redington Beach, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church in Mounds. The Rev. F. Jerry Herring will officiate. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds.

Friends may call at Barkett Funeral Home in Mounds after 6 p.m. Thursday.

Gundersen, 87, formerly of Mounds, died Saturday, April 21, 2001, at Seminole Nursing Pavilion in Seminole, Fla.

She was born Oct. 10, 1913, in Cairo, Ill., daughter of Amos and Blanch Corzine Burris. She married John Gundersen, who preceded her in death.

Gundersen was a social worker several years in Chicago's Cook County. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Mounds and Centenary United Methodist Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include a son, Gary Walston of Redington Beach; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
