WHITEWATER, Mo. -- Leo W. Gross, 101, of Whitewater, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at the Jackson Manor in Jackson, Mo. He was born Dec. 16, 1899, at Whitewater, son of George and Caroline Rose Gross. He and Ruth Stroder were married Sept. 17, 1928. She died Jan. 1, 1992...

WHITEWATER, Mo. -- Leo W. Gross, 101, of Whitewater, died Sunday, May 6, 2001, at the Jackson Manor in Jackson, Mo.

He was born Dec. 16, 1899, at Whitewater, son of George and Caroline Rose Gross. He and Ruth Stroder were married Sept. 17, 1928. She died Jan. 1, 1992.

Gross was a lifelong member of the Whitewater United Methodist Church. He had farmed in the Whitewater area all his life.

Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Cox of Whitewater, four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Revs. Tom Zych and Virgil Bunch officiating. Burial will be in Whitewater Cemetery.
