ANNA, Ill. -- Gladys Tompkins, 93, of Anna died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna. She was born Feb. 4, 1908, in Union County, Ill., the daughter of Ernest and Annie Boyd Norris. She and Fred A. Tompkins were married Dec. 2, 1926. He died July 11, 1991...

ANNA, Ill. -- Gladys Tompkins, 93, of Anna died Sunday, May 20, 2001, at the Union County Nursing Home in Anna.

She was born Feb. 4, 1908, in Union County, Ill., the daughter of Ernest and Annie Boyd Norris. She and Fred A. Tompkins were married Dec. 2, 1926. He died July 11, 1991.

She was a member of the Anna Heights Baptist Church and a retired co-owner of a produce company.

Survivors include a daughter, Ernestine Louise Wright of Anna; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crain Funeral Home in Anna.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Scott Harner officiating. Burial will follow in the Anna Cemetery.
