BESSIE 'LORENE' SKAGGS

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Bessie "Lorene" Skaggs, 55, of Grand Prairie, Texas, died Thursday, May 24, 2001, at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

She was born Sept. 25, 1945, at Gypsy, Mo., the daughter of Eva Jackson Hood and Burley Wallace. She married Bobby Gene Skaggs. He preceded her in death.

She was a retired factory worker.

She is survived by her mother of Gypsy; a son, Dennis Skaggs of Puxico, Mo.; a special friend, Roger Langston of Grand Prairie, Texas; four brothers, Ronnie Wallace and Harry Hood, both of Puxico, Doyle Hood and Odis Hood, both of Zalma, Mo.; two sisters, Ruby Windeknecht of Perkins, Mo., and Della Shuffit of Scott City, Mo.; and three grandchildren.

She also was preceded in death by her father; twin sons, a brother; and two sisters.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Morgan Funeral Chapel in Advance.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Tim Hedge officiating. Burial will be at Berrong Cemetery in Gypsy.
