JAKE POGUE

Jake R. Pogue, 78, of St. Louis died Friday, July 6, 2001, at St. Anthony Medical Center in St. Louis.

He was born July 20, 1922, in Patton, Mo., son of Henry Francis and Mella Alzada Tinnin Pogue. He married Wilda Louise Green on July 3, 1947, in St. Louis. She died on Sept. 1, 2000.

He attended Bethel Assembly of God in Cape Girardeau and the First Baptist Church in Oakville, Mo. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in St. Louis on March 19, 1982.

He was a member of the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans, a member of Algabil Freedom, Masonic Lodge 636 AF&AM of St. Louis and the Patrol Frigate Reunion Association.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Coast Guard from Dec. 18, 1941, to June 25, 1946.

He is survived by two daughters, Patricia E. Pogue of St. Louis and Paula E. Campbell of Ann Arbor, Mich.; two brothers, McCoy E. Pogue of Van Austlyne, Texas, and Cecil E. Harper of Fredericktown, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Kelly Campbell, Kevin Campbell, Megan Campbell and Masha Campbell.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home and from 1-3 p.m. Monday.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Tim Richards officiating.

Full military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 3838 in Cape Girardeau and the Missouri Honor Team.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
