Retired Army Cpl. Raymond "Doc" Arnold, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, July 17, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

He was born March 10, 1931, in McClure, Ill., son of Harry Theodore and Alsie Hill Arnold.

Arnold served in the U.S. Army 2nd Infantry, Indian Head Division, during the Korean War.

He had been a police officer in Sacramento, Calif., Cape Girardeau and Scott City, Mo.

He was a member of VFW Post 3838 and American Legion Post 63 in Cape Girardeau, and American Legion Post 900 in McClure.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Arnold of state of Nevada, Steven Arnold Sr. of Cape Girardeau; three daughters, Cynthia Colosimo of Reno, Nev., Mary McGinnis of Yuba City, Calif., Sandy Hudson of state of New Jersey; a brother, Harry Arnold of Sevierville, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

There is no visitation or funeral.

Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at McClure.

Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
