MICHAEL SMITH

MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Michael "E.J." Smith, 46, of Marble Hill died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

He was born April 21, 1955, at Senath, Mo., son of Fred and Mattie Johnson Smith. He and Deborah Ann Phillips were married Jan. 11, 1985, in Austin, Texas.

Smith was owner of Smith and Son Drilling Co. in Marble Hill.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael and Brandon Smith of Marble Hill; a daughter, Andrea Bollinger of Marble Hill; his parents of Dexter, Mo.; two brothers, Ronnie Smith of Dexter, Larry Smith of Marble Hill; two sisters, Sandra Lindemann of St. Louis, Trudy Smith of Dexter; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Dexter from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Elijah Allen officiating. Burial will be in Hagy Cemetery at Dexter.
