BROWNWOOD, Mo. -- Iva E. Welker, 89, of Brownwood died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. She was born May 1, 1912, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of Jake and Mellia Abernathy Welker. She and Elbert Welker were married Oct. 16, 1930, in Advance, Mo. He died in September 1972...

BROWNWOOD, Mo. -- Iva E. Welker, 89, of Brownwood died Thursday, July 26, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born May 1, 1912, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of Jake and Mellia Abernathy Welker. She and Elbert Welker were married Oct. 16, 1930, in Advance, Mo. He died in September 1972.

Welker was a member of New Hope General Baptist Church.

Survivors include two sons, Bill Welker of Advance, Harold "Doc" Welker of Brownwood; two daughters, Janet Welty and Velma Welker of Brownwood; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, three sisters, and five brothers.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The Rev. Earl Elfrink will officiate. Burial will be in Baker Cemetery at Marble Hill, Mo.
