Jewell H. Beauchamp, 80, of Cape Girardeau passed away Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Missouri Veterans Home.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo., after 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Janet Hopkins will officiate.

Mr. Beauchamp was born Dec. 13, 1920, in Gainesville, Fla., son of Harry E. and Jane Hunt Beauchamp. He and Maxine Powers were married Aug. 18, 1949. She died May 24, 1994.

Loving survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Gwen Beauchamp of Fincastle, Va.; five daughters and three sons-in-law, Marian and Tom Tidd of Bloomington, Ill., Cynthia and Bill Hahs of Jackson, Vickie Beauchamp of Cape Girardeau, Cherri Abernathy of Jackson, and Jackie and Johnny Hopkins of Burfordville, Mo.; a sister, Ruth Berbaum of Centralia, Ill.; and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by four brothers.

Mr. Beauchamp taught drafting and design for 21 years at Cape Girardeau Career and Technology Center. He was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Jackson.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southeast Hospice, Missouri Veterans Activity Fund, or American Legion Post 58.
