ALVA CORNELISON

BERNIE, Mo. -- Alva Elvis Cornelison, 83, of Bernie died Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Crowley Ridge Care Center in Dexter, Mo.

He was born Jan. 8, 1918, son of Joseph Verni and Alice Gertrude Lemons Cornelison. He and Novella Jean "Babe" Craft were married in 1959 at Bernie.

Cornelison was a farmer, and member of Bernie General Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ralph Cornelison of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., Scott Cornelison of Dexter; a daughter, Shirley Howard of Lake Havasu City; a stepson, Bill Craft of Tonopah, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Cathy Cornelison of Dexter; a brother, Vernon Cornelison of Glendale, Ariz.; two sisters, Alta Winstead of Dexter, Minnie Hurley of Steele, Mo.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 4-7 p.m. Saturday.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Arvil Edmonds officiating. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
