SIKESTON, Mo. -- Inez Hicks Baker, 95, of Sikeston died Saturday, Aug. 4, 2001, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.

Baker was born Aug. 19, 1905, in Stoddard County, daughter of M.D. and Etta Ridge Hicks. She and George Baker were married May 3, 1924. He died Oct. 20, 1984.

She was a member of the Illinois Avenue General Baptist Church. Baker had been a sales clerk at Peoples, Grabers and Falkoffs department stores and had been a member of Federated Women's Club.

Survivors include a son, J.D. Baker of Sikeston; a grandson; two great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a stepgrandson.

She was preceded in death by a brother, a sister and a grandson.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Ponder Funeral Home.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Dolan Rogers will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sikeston.
