WHITEWATER, Mo. -- Eric E. Dittlinger, 57, of Whitewater died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Jan. 17, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, son of Albert Alphonse and Helen Dial Dittlinger. He and Bobbie Adams were married Nov. 2, 1979, in Miami, Okla. She survives.
He was an engineer with several river boats. He worked in maintenance at the Sikeston, Mo., public school system.
Also surviving are his mother; sons, Jim Williams of Sikeston, Carl Eckhoff of Jones, Okla., Robert Eckhoff of Raeford, N.C., Eddie Dittlinger of Cape Girardeau and Larry Eckhoff of Nebraska; daughters, Robin Dittlinger of St. Mary, Mo., and Tracy Deck of Glen Allen, Mo.; and 12 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and one grandchild.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Dial officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
