THEBES, Ill. -- Funeral for Marion Pearson of Thebes will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. The Rev. Carl Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Thebes.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.

Pearson, 77, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001, at John Cochran VA Hospital in St. Louis.

He was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Carryville, Ark., son of William Dave and Ollie Kissinger Pearson. He and Delaine Hill were married Nov. 26, 1973. She died Jan. 22, 1998.

Pearson was self-employed in construction and had farmed. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Sittner of Freeburg, Ill.; four sisters, Millie Dunscombe of Fairfield, Ill., Imogene Hardy of O'Fallon, Ill., Betty Bowman of St. Louis, Mary Morehead of Annapolis, Mo.; two brothers, David Pearson Jr. of Arkansas, Julian Pearson of Fisk, Mo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter.
