BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Hallie Maureen Bennett, 93, of Bloomfield died Monday, Aug. 13, 2001, in Charlotte, N.C.
She was born Jan. 24, 1908, at Bloomfield, daughter of Harmon and Florence Alma Capps Howard. She and Jesse Walter Bennett were married June 14, 1929.
Bennett was a 1926 graduate of Bloomfield High School, and attended Southeast Missouri State Teachers College in Cape Girardeau.
She taught at a one-room school near Advance, Mo. She and her husband lived in St. Louis for a brief time then returned to Bloomfield and established Bennett Wholesale Co.
Survivors include a son, Jesse Bennett of Charlotte; a daughter, Anne Edwards of Rolla, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Friday, and Saturday from 8-10 a.m.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. The Rev. Charles Jones, a nephew, will officiate. Burial will be in Bloomfield Cemetery.
