SIKESTON, Mo. -- Rene LaQuerre, 73, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2001, at Clearview Nursing Center.

He was born Aug. 21, 1928, in Meriden, Conn., son of Anthony and Marcella Benoit LaQuerre. He and Bernice Halibozek were married April 28, 1951.

LaQuerre worked at Meriden Rolling Mill 40 years. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Covington, Conn.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Thomas LaQuerre of Bristol, Conn.; two daughters, Susan D'Agostino of Gilbert, S.C., Karen McBreairty of Thomaston, Conn.; a brother, Anthony LaQuerre of Farmington, Conn.; and four grandchildren.

Friends may call at Ponder Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today. The rosary will be recited at 7.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, with the Rev. Stephen Schneider officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
