MCCLURE, Ill. -- William Sherman Dodson, 54, of McClure died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau. He was born May 23, 1947, at Tamms, Ill., son of Earl and Flossie Hurston Dodson. Dodson had been a police officer in Tamms and Mounds, Ill. He was a member of House of Prayer Church in McClure...

MCCLURE, Ill. -- William Sherman Dodson, 54, of McClure died Monday, Aug. 27, 2001, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 23, 1947, at Tamms, Ill., son of Earl and Flossie Hurston Dodson.

Dodson had been a police officer in Tamms and Mounds, Ill. He was a member of House of Prayer Church in McClure.

Survivors include a sister, Vera Buster of McClure; two brothers, James Dodson of Scott City, Mo., and Raymond Dodson of Thebes, Ill.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Rick Parrish will officiate. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery near Dongola, Ill.
