ADVANCE, Mo. -- David Holland, 84, of Advance died Sunday, Aug. 26, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born May 29, 1917, at Bloomfield, Mo., son of Oliver and Eva Cravens Holland. He and Wanda Lee were married Jan. 27, 1940, at Jackson, Mo.

Holland retired in 1981 from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Stoddard County Office in Bloomfield. He had also farmed.

He was a member and deacon at Union Grove Baptist Church in Bloomfield. He was a past president and member of Advance R-IV School Board 12 years, and was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Advance Lodge 590 AF&AM.

Holland served with the U.S. Army in the South Pacific during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; five daughters, Vivien Webb and Linda Boren of Cape Girardeau, Barbara Brannon of Warner Robins, Ga., Catherine Hollaway and Angelia Jones of San Mateo, Fla.; a sister, Ruth Bean of Warner Robins; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers, and a sister.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.
