OLIVE BRANCH, Ill. -- Funeral for Ruth Holder of Olive Branch will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill. The Rev. Tony Ashworth, Dr. Herbert Haws and the Rev. John McCarty will officiate. Burial will be in Beechwood Cemetery at Mounds, Ill.

Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service.

Holder, 90, died Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2001, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Sept. 25, 1910, in Ballard County, Ky., daughter of William Jefferson and Lora Etta Vance Haws. She married Andrew Holder, who died April 3, 1995.

Holder was a retired cook, and member of Unity Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Patsy Steele of Jacksonville, Ill.; three sons, Henry Ashworth of Olive Branch, Billy Ashworth of Cairo, Ill., Ronnie Ashworth of East Cape Girardeau, Ill.; 25 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and two sons.
