HAZEL STROBEL

ADVANCE, Mo. -- Mama Hazel E. Strobel, 85, formerly of Advance, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Bertrand Nursing Home.

She was born Jan. 21, 1915, at Advance, daughter of Charles and Myrtle Presley White. She and John Henry Strobel were united in marriage Dec. 23, 1931, at Swinton, Mo. He preceded her in death March 12, 1998.

Hazel had been a homemaker most of her life, and was a member of Advance United Methodist Church.

Survivors include a son, Carl Gene Strobel Sr. of Advance; a brother, Charles White Jr. of Advance; three grandsons, Stan Strobel of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Shawn Strobel of Shreveport, La., Shane Strobel of Benton, Mo., whom she raised; three granddaughters, Stephanie Strobel of Gulf Breeze, Sheila Hargrove of Silsbee, Texas, Teressa Norden of Sikeston, Mo., whom she raised; several great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, two grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.

Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 21.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Karen Taylor of Benton United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will be in Morgan Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Stan Strobel, Shawn Strobel, Shane Strobel and John Norden.
