Funeral for Naomi Gertrude Garner of Cape Girardeau will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Philip N. Curran will officiate. Entombment will be in Cape County Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call at the chapel from 4-8 p.m. today. A VFW Auxiliary service will be held at 7.

Garner, 82, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000, at Ratliff Care Center.

She was born Feb. 13, 1918, at Burfordville, Mo., daughter of William L. and Della G. Allard Day. She had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1927.

Garner opened Ozark Gas in 1946 and operated it until 1997. She was a member of First Christian Church, VFW Auxiliary, Exchangettes, and River City Business and Professional Women. She was a past president of VFW Auxiliary District 15.

Survivors include two sons, Gary Garner of Jackson, Mo., Bob Garner of Barnhart, Mo.; two daughters, Pamela Miller of Woodlawn, Ill., Belinda Goggins of Cape Girardeau; a brother, Lynn Day of Tucson, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother.
