CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Henry B. Duenne Jr., 86, of Charleston died Friday, Dec. 22, 2000, at his home.

He was born April 13, 1914, in the Texas Bend community, son of Henry Bernard and Ann Catherine Bruenderman Duenne Sr. He and Helena Rodgers were married Nov. 10, 1937.

A lifelong resident of Mississippi County, Duenne was a retired landowner and farmer. He also owned and operated Duenne Fabric and Upholstery Shoppe.

He was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Bernard and Michael Duenne of Charleston; a daughter, Janet Duenne-Kapotas of Belvidere, Ill.; four sisters, Sister Bernadine Duenne of St. Louis, Catherine Showmaker and Rosalia Scherer of Cape Girardeau, Monica Dirnberger of New Hamburg, Mo.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. A prayer service will be held at 7.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Henry's Church, with the Rev. Gerald Brown officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
