SIKESTON -- Leona Hicks, 91, of Sikeston died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born May 4, 1908, at Blodgett, daughter of Samuel and Louise Colley Brooks.
She was a member of the Diehlstadt General Baptist Church. She attended Murray Lane Baptist Church in Sikeston. She was a volunteer at Missouri Delta Medical Center several years. She and her husband moved to Sikeston from Diehlstadt in 1952.
She and Luchen F. Hicks were married March 16, 1924. He died Sept. 25, 1969.
Survivors include a son, Jackie Hicks of Bertrand; three daughters, Freda Michael of Newark, Calif., Jean Lee of Sikeston and Viola Bailey of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Dona Ferrell of Charleston and Pauline Welches of Fredericktown; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter and two sisters.
Friends may call at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel from a 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the chapel, with the Rev. Kelley Grubbs officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
