ANNA, Ill. -- James Grant Kelley, 73, of Anna died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home. He was born July 4, 1926, in Anna, son of Jesse and Grace Phillips Kelley. He and Virginia Lee Elkins were married July 18, 1947, in Jonesboro. She died July 12, 1986...

ANNA, Ill. -- James Grant Kelley, 73, of Anna died Monday, Feb. 14, 2000, at his home.

He was born July 4, 1926, in Anna, son of Jesse and Grace Phillips Kelley. He and Virginia Lee Elkins were married July 18, 1947, in Jonesboro. She died July 12, 1986.

Kelley retired from the former Anna State Hospital. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Union County Country Club.

Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn Green of Jackson, Mo.; a brother, Wayne Kelley of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; two sisters, Louise Kelley and Afton Davidson of Anna; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna after 5 p.m. Thursday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery, with military honors by Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 of Anna.
