SCOTT CITY -- Fred Charles Burger, 76, of Scott City died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2000, at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 20, 1923, at Pittsville, son of Ervin and Marie Burger. He and Irene Adams were married June 27, 1949, in Hot Springs, Ark.

Burger had been a switchman with Terminal Railroad.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two brothers, Joe Burger of Centralia, Mike Burger of Scott City; two sisters, Ina Essner of Cape Girardeau and Betty Raines of Scott City.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. William Dickey officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Dunklin County Memorial Gardens at Kennett.
