ANNA, Ill. -- Vance G. Peterson, 76, of Anna died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, on arrival at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind. He was born Sept. 5, 1923, at Comertown, Mont., son of John E. and Ida P. Peterson. He and Dorothy O. Cline were married Nov. 29, 1946, in Anna...

ANNA, Ill. -- Vance G. Peterson, 76, of Anna died Tuesday, Feb. 22, 2000, on arrival at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Ind.

He was born Sept. 5, 1923, at Comertown, Mont., son of John E. and Ida P. Peterson. He and Dorothy O. Cline were married Nov. 29, 1946, in Anna.

Peterson was a retired journeyman electrician. He was a member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church in Anna, life member of Carroll P. Foster VFW Post 3455 in Anna, and a member of IBEW Local 702 in West Frankfort. He was also a Boy Scout leader many years.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis Peterson of Mt. Vernon; two daughters, Janine Kelley of Anna, Loretta Koch of Carbondale; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Friends may call at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Rick Hertenstein and Marlin Otte officiating. Burial will be in Anna Cemetery, with military rites by VFW Post 3455.
