OAK RIDGE -- Jeanette Wheat, 70, of Bowie, Texas, formerly of Oak Ridge, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Bowie. Wheat was a certified nurse assistant. Survivors include her husband, Don; two daughters, Gina Hoskins of Covington, Ga., Vonda Tronjonawski of Burleson, Texas; a son, Johnny Mendola of Garland, Texas; three stepdaughters, Dee Whitehead of Victorville, Calif., Marsha Pilcher and Donna Joiner of Haltom City, Texas; adopted mother, Viola McCain of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Joan Manard of Tuolumne, Calif.; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-stepgrandchild.. ...

Graveside service was held Jan. 29 at a cemetery in Vashti, Texas. The Rev. Billy Felts officiated.

Burgess-Fry-Owens-Brumley Funeral Home in Bowie was in charge of arrangements.
