CHAFFEE -- Hershell Robert McKenzie, 81, of Chaffee died Saturday, Feb. 26, 2000, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.

He was born March 8, 1918, at Glen Allen, son of William Arthur and Ida Mae Mansfield McKenzie.

He and Ruby Kindred were married March 27, 1937.

He was a retired foreman from Florsheim Shoe Co. at Chaffee. He served in the United States Army in France during World War II and was wounded during the war. He was a member of the Capaha Antique Car Club in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, June Stubbs and Joan Spencer, both of Chaffee; sisters, Geneva Rutledge of Little Rock, Ark., and Christine McKenzie of Chaffee; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by three brothers.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Chaffee after 4 p.m. Monday.

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Watis Harrell officiating. Burial will be in Union Park Cemetery at Chaffee.
