DONGOLA, Ill. -- Rodney Odom, 45, of Dongola died Tuesday, March 28, 2000, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

He was born June 19, 1954, at Granite City, son of Albert and Virginia Nevels Odom.

He was a mechanic at Players Riverboat Casino in Metropolis and had served in the U.S. Army for 12 1/2 years.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy Murphy Odom of Dongola; two stepdaughters, April Murphy of Simpson and Amy Ruth Johnson of Brookport; two stepsons, Richard Dale Johnson of Simpson and Charles Thomas Johnson of Dongola; his parents of Wetaug; two sisters, Connie Murphy and Debbie Dunn, both of Collinsville; and two brothers, Randy Odom and Richard Odom, both of Granite City; and a stepgrandchild.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. today and on Thursday until the time of services at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Paul Sadler officiating.
