ROY L. ABERNATHY

PERRYVILLE -- Roy L. Abernathy, 48, of Perryville died Friday, March 31, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 25, 1951, in Perry County, son of Thomas Abernathy and LaVern Collins Emmendorfer. He and Mary Ann Kiefer were married Sept. 11, 1970, at Perryville.

Abernathy was owner/manager of a KOA campground. He was in the Navy during the Vietnam War.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Vincent Abernathy of St. Louis; one daughter, Patricia Abernathy of St. Louis; his mother; two sisters, Judy Hawkins of Troy, Ill., and Joyce Mehrer of Rockwood, Ill.; and three brothers, Tom Abernathy of Jefferson, Texas, and Robert Abernathy and Danny Abernathy of Perryville.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Friends may call at Young & Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 5-8 p.m. today and 8-10 a.m. Monday.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 12:45 p.m. Monday.
