PERRYVILLE -- Leona M. Sauer, 83, of Perryville died Friday, April 7, 2000, at her residence. She was born Jan. 26, 1917, at Biehle, daughter of Edgar and Catherine Braun Stark. She and Edgar O. "Eddie" Sauer were married Sept. 28, 1942. Sauer was owner-operator of the Intersection Motel from 1946 to the present. She had previously worked for the International Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality...

PERRYVILLE -- Leona M. Sauer, 83, of Perryville died Friday, April 7, 2000, at her residence.

She was born Jan. 26, 1917, at Biehle, daughter of Edgar and Catherine Braun Stark. She and Edgar O. "Eddie" Sauer were married Sept. 28, 1942.

Sauer was owner-operator of the Intersection Motel from 1946 to the present. She had previously worked for the International Shoe Co. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and Ladies Sodality.

Survivors include three sons, Dennis Sauer and David Sauer of Perryville and Darryl Sauer of Cape Girardeau; one daughter, Marilyn Ward of Lakevilla, Ill.; one brother, Tony Stark of Perryville; one sister, Dellora Wibbenmeyer of Perryville; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers.

Memorial mass will be at 7 p.m. Monday at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, with the Rev. Kevin Fausz officiating.

Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville is in charge of arrangements.
