EAST PRAIRIE -- Funeral for Blanche Edwards of East Prairie will be held at 1 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Burl Britt will officiate. Graveside service will be at 3:30 p.m. in Zion Cemetery near Columbus, Ky.

Edwards, 89, died Thursday, April 20, 2000, at East Prairie Nursing Center.

She was born March 3, 1911, at East Prairie, daughter of George and Sarah Moore Williams. She and Howard Orlin Edwards were married April 23, 1930. He died June 28, 1987.

Survivors include two sons, George Edwards of East Prairie, LeeRoy Edwards of Bardwell, Ky.; a daughter, Sarah Cade of Aurora, Ind.; a brother, Finley Williams of Sikeston; a sister, Pearl Dunlap of East Prairie; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, four brothers, three sisters and two great-grandchildren.
