LESSIE RHODES

JONESBORO, Ill. -- Lessie Mae White Rhodes, 89, of Jonesboro, died Monday, June 26, 2000, at her home.

She was born Aug. 6, 1910, in Decaturville, Tenn., daughter of James and Ella Mae Boswell White. She and Robert H. Rhodes were married Nov. 4, 1931, at Blytheville, Ark. He died April 26, 1981.

Survivors include seven daughters, Loretta Wilson of Sikeston, Mo., Shirley Geneva Smith of Cobden, Janice Westmoreland of Sauk Village, Peggy Rhodes of Sumerduck, Va., Ocie Osald of Wichita Falls, Texas, Linda Rhodes of Jonesboro, and Janey Acuff of Dongola; two sons, Troy Rhodes of Crossville, Tenn., and Hobert Rhodes of Jonesboro; 23 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two sons, three brothers and a grandson.

Friends may call at the Lutz & Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenneth Mixen officiating. Burial will be in the Cobden Cemetery.
