SIKESTON, Mo. -- Louis Christian Goehri Jr., 53, of Sikeston died Friday, July 21, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

He was born Nov. 24, 1946, in St. Louis, son of Louis C. and Carolyn W. Oepping Goehri Sr.

He and Joyce Dial were married May 28, 1993, at Sikeston.

Goehri retired from the U.S. Army after 20 years of service. He had two tours of service in Vietnam and was recipient of the Bronze Star for bravery. He had been a bus driver and in maintenance for the Sikeston Public Schools.

He was a member of Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, Louis O. Goehri of Sikeston; Jim Holt of Sikeston and Jason Holt of the home; a daughter, Hope Hopkins of New Port Richey, Fla.,; sisters, Gay French and Myrna Ethridge, both of Sikeston; and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel.

Funeral will be held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Jerry Adams and the Rev. Keith Wilson officiating. Full military rites will be conducted at Garden of Memories Cemetery.
