RUSSELL JACKSON

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Russell Elmo Jackson, 76, of East Prairie died Sunday, Aug. 20, 2000, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Mo.

He was born Jan. 30, 1924, in New Madrid County, son of Daniel and Jessie Lee French Jackson. He and Allene Elizabeth Bright were married Dec. 30, 1954.

Jackson had lived all his life in Mississippi and New Madrid counties. He was a member of First General Baptist Church in East Prairie. He also was a member of Union Local 282 in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; five sons, Ricky, Randy, Tommy, Billy and Robert Andrew Jackson, all of East Prairie; a daughter, Helen Frazier of Paris, Texas; a brother, Lewis Jackson of Jackson, Miss.; a sister, Mabel Figley of Paducah, Ky.; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by eight brothers.

Friends may call from 5-9 p.m. today at Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.

Funeral will be Tuesday at the chapel. Burial will follow in the East Prairie Memorial Park Cemetery.
