MARY MCDANIEL

TAMMS, Ill. -- Mary Louise McDaniel, 76, of Granite City, Ill., died Tuesday, Aug. 22, 2000, at Maryville Manor in Maryville, Ill.

She was born Aug. 20, 1924, in Clinton, Ky., daughter of Claude Ezra and Sally Mae Cagle DeJarnett. She and Adolph O. "Doc" McDaniel were married Feb. 26, 1949, in Cairo, Ill.

McDaniel was formerly of Tamms. She had worked at Schewes Confectionery and Clean Craft Cleaners in Granite City. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Granite City.

Survivors include a son, Cletus McDaniel of Granite City; a daughter, Theresa Williamson of Pell City, Ala.; four sisters, Willie Jonaken of Union City, Tenn.; Martha Bufford of Tamms, Kathryn Dillworth of Clinton, Betty Timm of Bradley, Ill.; a brother, Ezra "Shorty" DeJarnett of Tamms; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a sister.

Friends may call at Jones Funeral Home in Tamms after 9 a.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Larry Buckles will officiate. Burial will be in McCrite Cemetery near Tamms.
