Funeral for retired Col. Garvel R. "Bob" Trimble of Hope, Idaho, was held Wednesday at Coffelt Funeral Home in Sandpoint, Idaho. Private burial will be in Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale, Ariz. A memorial service will be held in October.

Trimble, 85, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, in Sandpoint.

He was born April 20, 1915, in Urbana, Ill., son of Robert M. and Mary E. Harrigan Trimble, formerly of Lilbourn, Mo., and Cape Girardeau. He and Leona "Peggy" Revelle were married June 30, 1940, in Hampton, Va.

Trimble served in the U.S. Air Force 30 years. He was a pilot, served as a military governor in Korea, and served with the Air Defense Command. After retiring from the military, he worked in electronics at Sylvania Corp. five years, and was a real estate agent five years.

The Trimbles have lived in Hope since July 1976. He was a member of the Shrine Club and attended First Christian Church, both in Sandpoint.

Survivors include his wife; a sister, Mary Rasner of Scottsdale; and a brother, Richard Trimble of Strawberry, Ariz.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.
