GRADE BURD

ANNA, Ill. -- Funeral for Grace Burd of Anna will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at First Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The Revs. Steve Wilkinson and Ron Cox will officiate. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens at Villa Ridge, Ill.

Friends may call at Crain Funeral Home in Anna from 5-8 p.m. today.

Burd, 95, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2000, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, Ill.

She was born July 20, 1905, in Olmsted, Ill., daughter of William and Bertha Studer Basse. She and Bishop Burd were married July 10, 1929. He died Aug. 8, 1992.

Burd was a member of First Evangelical Church, Anna -Jonesboro Women's Club, and the former Magnolia Garden Club.

Survivors include two daughters, Marian Michel and Lynn LeFevre of Anna; a son, Phillip Burd of Anna; a sister, Clara Pirtle of Jacksonville, Fla.; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.
