JACKSON, Mo. 00 Viola Corene Short, 94, formerly of Jackson, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at Sikeston Health Care Center. She was born Oct. 11, 1905, at Egypt Mills, Mo., daughter of Ferdinand and Emilie Steinhoff Windeknecht. She and Charles "Wilson" Short were married Aug. 29, 1934. He died April 20, 1995...

JACKSON, Mo. 00 Viola Corene Short, 94, formerly of Jackson, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2000, at Sikeston Health Care Center.

She was born Oct. 11, 1905, at Egypt Mills, Mo., daughter of Ferdinand and Emilie Steinhoff Windeknecht. She and Charles "Wilson" Short were married Aug. 29, 1934. He died April 20, 1995.

Short was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, and former member of Pleasant Hill Presbyterian Church at Fruitland, Mo.

Survivors include nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Russell Heights Cemetery.
