CHARLESTON, Mo. -- O.J. Leffler II, 73, of Charleston died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at his home. He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Caddo Gap, Ark., son of Oliver J. and Elva T. West Leffler. He and Ruth Ann Wicker were married Sept. 7, 1962. Leffler lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He retired from Brown Shoe Co. in 1973. CHARLESTON, Mo. -- O.J. Leffler II, 73, of Charleston died Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2000, at his home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1927, in Caddo Gap, Ark., son of Oliver J. and Elva T. West Leffler. He and Ruth Ann Wicker were married Sept. 7, 1962.

Leffler lived in Mississippi County most of his life. He retired from Brown Shoe Co. in 1973. He was a member of New Covenant Pentecostal Holiness Church in Wyatt, Mo.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, O. John Leffler III of Paducah, Ky., Robbie Leffler of Charleston; a daughter, Carolyn Fischer of Liberty, Mo.; three brothers, Jimmy Sparks of Wyatt, Paul Leffler of Canton, Ohio, Lawrence Leffler of Ohara, Okla.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston after 5 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Revs. Joseph Wicker and Leroy Thornton will officiate. Burial will be in IOOF Cemetery.
