ALTO PASS, Ill. -- Lena Agnes Norton, 97, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Alto Pass, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at the National Health Care Facility in St. Charles. She was born Nov. 1, 1902, at Cobden, Ill., daughter of John William and Annie Rhodes Wallace. She and Arty Norton were married Oct. 17, 1924, at Cairo, Ill. He died in September 1953...

ALTO PASS, Ill. -- Lena Agnes Norton, 97, of St. Charles, Mo., formerly of Alto Pass, Ill., died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2000, at the National Health Care Facility in St. Charles.

She was born Nov. 1, 1902, at Cobden, Ill., daughter of John William and Annie Rhodes Wallace. She and Arty Norton were married Oct. 17, 1924, at Cairo, Ill. He died in September 1953.

She was a member of the Grace Memorial Church in Alto Pass.

Survivors include two daughters, Frances Clark of St. Charles and Sue Freeman of De Soto, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sisters and three brothers.

Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Alto Pass. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m., with the Rev. Bobby Norton officiating. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.
