Funeral for John Wesley Cupler Jr. of Fenton, Mo., formerly of Cape Girardeau, was held Nov. 4 at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton. The Rev. Jim McConnell officiated, with burial in Shepherd Hill Cemetery at Barnhart, Mo.

Cupler, 60, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, at his home.

He was born Sept. 1, 1940, in St. Louis, son of John Wesley and Guila Wakefield Cupler. He married the former Wilma Stone.

Cupler retired as a mechanic with American National Can Co. He lived in Cape Girardeau five years, moving to Fenton about two months ago. He attended First Assembly of God Church in Cape Girardeau.

Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Tina Byrd, Rebecca Creely, Kimberly Faulstich and Cheryl Wickenhauser, all of the Fenton area; a sister, Shirley James of Farmington, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
